Program Coordinator (FT) -

We’re seeking a dedicated Program Coordinator to help deliver high-quality, values-driven youth sports experiences. This role is ideal for someone who is much like a great physical education teacher—organized, outgoing, and passionate about serving others through sports. You’ll work hands-on in a dynamic setting, leading volunteers and ensuring every child has a positive, fun introduction to athletics. Candidates should demonstrate a strong work ethic and a positive attitude consistent with FBA’s standards.
This position requires evening and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and coordinate youth sports programs, including scheduling and working with referees, preparing fields and equipment, and overseeing program logistics during practices and games to ensure smooth execution.
- Lead and support volunteer coaches across various sports, teaching them how to deliver beginner-level fundamentals in an engaging, fun, and inclusive way.
- Step in as needed to coach beginner youth teams or officiate games, quickly acclimating to any sport to support program needs.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups, teams, and directing others.
- Work approximately 75% of evenings and weekends at our fieldhouse and outdoor fields on Indy’s north side to lead and support events, camps, and activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven background in youth sports, youth leadership, education, youth work, or similar fields—focusing on serving others and creating great team experiences for youth.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Outgoing personality- comfortable leading groups, adapting to and learning new sports, and engaging with families and kids.
- Commitment to high ethical standards, a positive attitude, and hard work; no formal degree required.
- Proficient use of computers including Microsoft Office and Google platforms.
- Preferred: Experience in recreational sports coordination, volunteer management, or teaching.
Location: This is a fully in-person role based at our fieldhouse and outdoor fields—never remote.
Site Manager
- Responsible for overseeing and managing sports programming and events (league games/practices, camps, clinics, etc.)
- Serve as a point of contact for communication, decision-making, and troubleshooting.
- Interacting with players, coaches, and staff to assure
- Able to multi-task and anticipate problems before they happen.
- Provide customers with the best possible sports programming experience.

Concessions/Food Services
- Responsible for maintaining operations and assisting customers at the concession stand.
- Take customer orders and assemble them correctly.
- Accept payment from customers via a cash register.
- Check food items to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Keep the assigned area clean, sanitary, and safe.
- Perform basic maintenance on machines and equipment as needed.
- Re-stocking concessions from inventory when needed.
- Balancing register receipts at the end of the day.
- Ensure the concession stand and supplies are stocked with backup inventory. (Manager)
- Track and analyze concession item sales and make adjustments as needed. (Manager)
- Staff the concession stand with Attendants based on the sports programming schedule. (Manager)
- Must be at least 15 years old.

Game Official
- Referee/umpire fun and fair games with an emphasis on balancing athletic competition and good sportsmanship
- Establishes and maintains the respect of the coaches, players, and fans.
- Maintains control of play
- Interprets and understands the rules of play and makes judgment calls accordingly.
- Must be at least 13 years old.
