Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer coaches are needed for every team. Please consider volunteering as either a head coach or an assistant coach when registering your child. A criminal background check is required for all coaches.

Head Coaches are asked to attend a coaches meeting before the season starts and will receive rosters, schedules, and uniforms. Coaches will lead drills at practices and oversee game activities.

Assistant Coaches lend a significant helping hand to head coaches at practices and games.

Scoreboard and Scorebook Volunteers   are recruited by each head coach to represent the team in either operating the scoreboard or keeping the official scorebook for the game.  Please proactively communicate to your child's coaches your willingness to help.

Games Schedules

Practice and Games

All divisions will have one practice per week and a Saturday game until weeknight games begin in lieu of practices, with these exceptions:

9-10 Boys games - Thursday nights
11-13 Boys games - Friday nights

6 Coed, 5 Coed, and 4 Coed games - Sundays

Practices for 5 and 6 year old's will begin at 4pm during the week because of limited gym space.

4-year-old division info:
The 4 year-old's will only play on Sundays. Their division format is structured into 20 minute practices followed by a game in which the coaches are heavily involved. The 4 year-old division participants are too young to play full games; however, this division is a great introduction to the basic concepts of basketball. The 4-year-old schedule is as follows:

First Day of
 and Games
Sunday, November 7thFBA Gym
 No activities Sunday, Nov 28th

Equipment / Supplies

Participants should bring a water bottle and wear tennis shoes, socks, shorts (or sweatpants), t-shirts, and masks to practices and games. First Baptist Athletics will provide a game jersey. Kneepads are not required. Please DO NOT bring your own basketball to the FBA gym. We want to prevent loose basketballs that interrupt other practices/games and lost basketballs. FBA will supply basketballs. The basketball size and goal height by division appear below:

- Everyone is required to wear a mask in the building. Participants can remove their masks while practicing or playing a game.
- Temperature checks will be done at the door for both players and adults entering the gym.
