Welcome to First Baptist Athletics - Winter Basketball 2023

The First Baptist Athletics Basketball program is designed for players of all skill levels. Our goal is to teach the game of basketball in an environment that emphasizes fun and competition without sacrificing good sportsmanship and respect for others. 

All practices and games will be held at the gymnasium at First Baptist Athletics at 8600 N. College Ave, Indianapolis, IN. Please enter the gym through either Door 2 or 3 from the parking lot. The boys high school division will be held in the First Baptist gym this year.

Age Divisions
Basketball divisions are offered for both boys and girls from ages 4 to 13 based on the participant's age as of January 1. 

*Please note that 5 year-old and 6 year-old practices will be held at 4:00 PM.

Practices and Games

All divisions will have one practice per week and a Saturday game, until weeknight games begin in lieu of practices, with these exceptions:

THERE ARE CHANGES TO PRACTICES AND GAME SCHEDULES FOR THE 9-10 BOYS and 11-13 BOYS AGE GROUPS FOR 2023 WINTER SESSION: 

9-10 Boys games on Sunday afternoons at NORTHVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL and practices MONDAY Nights at NORTHVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL.
 
11-13 Boys games on Sunday afternoons at NORTHVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL and practices on MONDAY Nights at NORTHVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL. 

6 Coed, 5 Coed, and 4 Coed games on Sunday afternoons at FBA.

5 COED and 4 COED will practice and play games on Sundays with some extra activities on Saturday afternoons. 

**Practices 6 year-olds will begin at 4pm during the week because of limited gym space. 

HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE WILL PLAY GAMES SUNDAY AFTERNOONS AT NORTHVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL. Schedule is TBA.


4 Year-Old & 5 Year-Old COED Division Info:
The 4 year-olds and 5 year-olds will only play on Sundays. Their division format is structured into 20-minute practices followed by a game in which the coaches are heavily involved. These divisions are a great introduction to the basic concepts of basketball. Game and practice schedules will be sent out to parents shortly after teams are published. 

Cost
The cost per participant for the season is $150 for all divisions except the 4 year-old & 5 year-old divisions, which are $110.  A $15 late fee will be charged on all registration orders submitted after 5:00 am on Jan 9th.

Equipment / Supplies
Participants should bring a water bottle and wear tennis shoes, socks, shorts (or sweatpants), and t-shirts to practices and games. First Baptist Athletics will provide a game jersey. Kneepads are not required. Please DO NOT bring your own basketball to the FBA gym. We want to prevent loose basketballs that interrupt other practices/games and lost basketballs. FBA will supply basketballs. The basketball sizes and goal heights by division appear below:
