Welcome to First Baptist Athletics - 2026 Winter Basketball!

The First Baptist Athletics Basketball program is designed for players of all skill levels. Our goal is to teach basketball in an environment that emphasizes fun and competition without sacrificing good sportsmanship and respect for others. All practices and games will be held at the Denny Barrett Fieldhouse at First Baptist Athletics at 8710 N. College Ave, Indianapolis, IN.


Age Divisions:

Basketball divisions are offered for girls ages 4 to 12 and boys ages 4 to 13, based on the participant's age as of January 1.

Games schedules will be posted here, the week after the first week of practices.


Practices & Games:

All divisions will have one practice per week and a Saturday game, until weeknight games begin in lieu of practices, with these exceptions:

6 Coed, 5 Coed, and 4 Coed divisions will have games on Sunday afternoons.

5 Coed and 4 Coed divisions will practice and play games on Sundays only. Their division format is structured into 20-minute practices followed by a game in which the coaches are heavily involved. These divisions are a great introduction to the basic concepts of basketball. Game and practice schedules will be sent out to parents shortly after teams are published.

6 Coed practices will begin at 4:15 PM during the week due to limited gym space.

11-13 Boys & 11-12 Girls will play Friday evenings.

The cost per participant for the season is $160 for all divisions, except the 4 year-old & 5 year-old divisions, which are $125. A $25 late fee will be charged on all registration orders submitted after 5:00 am on Dec 29th.


Equipment/Supplies:

Participants should bring a water bottle and wear tennis shoes, socks, shorts (or sweatpants), and t-shirts to practices and games. First Baptist Athletics will provide a game jersey. Kneepads are not required. Please DO NOT bring your own basketball to the FBA gym. We want to prevent loose basketballs that interrupt other practices/games and lost basketballs. FBA will supply basketballs. The basketball sizes and goal heights by division appear below:

VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED

Every team needs volunteer coaches to make the season possible. No prior coaching experience is required — just a willingness to help create a positive and fun environment for kids. When registering your child, please consider signing up as a head coach or assistant coach.

• Head Coaches are asked to attend a coaches meeting before the season starts and will receive rosters, team schedules, and uniforms. Coaches will lead drills at practices and oversee game activities.

• Assistant Coaches lend a significant helping hand to head coaches at practices and games.

• Scoreboard and Scorebook Volunteers are recruited by each head coach to represent the team in either operating the scoreboard or keeping the official scorebook for the game. Please proactively communicate to your coaches your willingness to help.
